Refuge Tognola
The Refuge Tognola is located at 2 200 m a.s.l. near the peak Alpe Tognola in the Natural Park Pale Pale di San Martino. It can be easily reached from San Martino di Castrozza by the gondola Tognola, which has the top station just few minutes from the refuge.
Snowpark Livigno Mottolino
Arguably the best Italian snowpark, Mottolino is definitely the biggest one, and hosts the biggest number of snowboard events in Italy. There are the regular competition like Burton European Open, World Rookie Fest and gaining the growing popularity Budweiser River Jump,the special jump over the Spoel river.
Cervinia
Cervinia lies at 2,006 m (6,581 ft) above sea level, at the foot of the Monte Cervino ( Matterhorn ) - one of the highest peaks in the Alps (4,478 m a.s.l) , and the emblem of Swiss Alps. Cervinia shares a ski area with Zermatt in Switzerland with smaller surface, but much cheaper than its Swiss neighbour. The special skipass bought in Italy allows also skiing on Swiss side of Matterhorn.
Madonna di Campiglio
Madonna di Campiglio is located in a valley between the Dolomites of Brenta and the Adamello-Presanella glaciers, at an altitude of 1550 m.a.s.l. Near the place that now is the centre of Madonna, at the end of 12th century a chapel to the Holy Virgin Mary and a mountain shelter were founded for numerous pilgrims and traders, who were carrying their goods between Po Plane and Valleys of Sole and Non.
Dolomiti Superski
Val Gardena polishes its snow equipment for the opening of the winter season, which this year starts on Dec 5th. Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy fun on the slopes till or even a bit longer, weather permits.

The total of 43 competitions will be hosted in total of 21 resorts, which are very similar to last year. Thus, in Italy, as usual, the competitions will be held in three resorts: Val Gardena, Alta Badia and Bormio.
This year total of 41 competitions will be held in 21 resorts, including only one Italian. Cortina will see the skiers traditionally at the end of January.

Among three main summer ski resorts in Italy the most popular is Passo dello Stelvio.
The Pass ( German : Stilfser Joch ) is on the border between Alta Valtellina and Alto Adige at the altitude 2578 m. From the Lombardy side the nearest town is Bormio, and there is town Prad a Stelvio on the other side of the pass.
The glacier that belongs to Ortles-Cevedale group, is located between Monte Cristallo and Stelvio Pass, the highest point for skiing is Punta degli Spiriti (3450m) near refugee Livro.
The ski resort chosen by many national teams for summer training is open only for four months a year , as during the remaining months the pass is closed due to weather conditions.
