The oldest Piedmontese ski region Bardonecchia built the first ski jump more than a century ago.
Today it features 110 km of downhill runs served by modern lifts with the capacity 23 thousand people per hour.

The village is easy accessible from many European towns by the motorway A32 and train line Turin-Modane ( to Paris ).
Located only 95 km from Turin during the weekend turns into quite crowded place with well developed apre-ski night life, 46 restaurants, pubs
and Palazzo delle Feste with vast offer of international theatre performances and art events.

During the rest of the week the runs of Bardonecchia are relatively empty, allowing to ski in comfortable conditions, also the slopes of mounts Jafferau and Colomion tempt with their off-piste skiing valours. The snowboarders will find great area for snowboard and carving, the quality of has been proved by the privilege of hosting in Bardonecchia the Snowboard competitions, as a part of Winter Olympics 2006.

The only disadvantage is small number of runs with artificial snow support, that makes skiing there quite dependable on weather conditions.
Just 20 km from Bardonecchia in Sauze d’Oulx there is the beginning of 400 km of slopes of Vialattea with Sestriere, Cesana and Montgenevre on the French side.
