Dolomiti Express is the new train connection for skiers and bicyclists, which allows to go from Trento to Val di Sole mountains for a couple of hours, and return the same day.
The Train starts from Trento railway station, stops at local stations including Malè, and finally arrives to Marilleva, where tourists can go out on Daolasa or Marilleva 900 stations.
During the winter season ( excluding Christmas ) Funivie Folgarida Marilleva Spa offer the reduction of the daily skipass price in the amount equivalent to the price of a return train ticket,
which means the train for skiers is FREE ( still they have to buy train ticket first to get the skipass reduction though).
The bottom ski lifts in Daolasa and Marilleva 900 are located just a few meters away from the train stations, and the Dolomiti Express trains run every half an hour during the day,
the schedule is synchronised with the lifts opening time.
The journey between Trento and Marilleva takes about 110 min, the first skiers train from Trento departs at 7.13 to arrive at Marilleva at 9.00, the last trains from Marilleva at 17.39 and 18.54.
The departure times can vary, so it is necessary to check the time schedule before the trip.
To promote the use of the train, the parking areas next to the Trento railway station are free of charge.
The slopes of Marilleva are connected with these of the near village Folgarida making one ski resort called Folgarida-Marilleva.
The first lift from Daolasa starts at 8.30, the last one goes down at 16.30, and the ski pass offices are opened from 8.00 to 17.30 ( 18.30 Sun, 19.30 Sat).
After purchasing an extended skipass the skiers can also use the slopes of famous Madonna di Campiglio ski resort, which is lift connected with Marilleva.
