Hotel Cova Val di Sole
Our recommendation:
Family run hotel Cova, situated in the old little town of Pellizzano, in the heart of the Sun Valley (Val di Sole) in the Trentino region, in Italy.
It is located 2,5 h drive from international airports in Bergamo (Milan) and Verona, and only 4 km away from the first ski station of Marilleva 900.
You can purchase Superskirama skipass that permits you skiing in all the ski resorts of Dolomites Adamello Brenta with its 360 km of slopes such as Marilleva, Folgarida, Madonna di Campiglio, Pejo, Paganella, Passo del Tonale and Ponte di Legno.
After reaching Marilleva 900 by free regular ski bus service (the ski bus stops 15 meters away from the hotel) you can get easily by the skilift to Marilleva 1400 and later, by ski lifts and slopes to Folgarida and Madonna di Campiglio – so you have more than 120 km of slopes for your disposal ONLY 4 km away from the hotel!
Instead, going from Pellizzano 18 km westward by skibus or by car you arrive to Tonale Pass (Passo del Tonale) where you can ski on the southern part of the mountain or, if you wish, you can ski on the Presena glacier, or you can get by funicular to Ponte di Legno to ski and walk down this cozy town center.
The Pejo ski resort is 20 km away and Paganella 60 km away from the hotel.
The hotel itself refurbished mainly in the Trentino style offers single, twin, triple and quadruple rooms, each with private ensuite bathroom with hairdryer, TV sat, and safe box.
Almost all rooms have their private balconies.
After skiing you can relax in a fitness center with gym and in a wellness center with Finnish sauna and Turkish bath , both situated in the hotel .
The cuisine is really superb. The hotel restaurant offers breakfast buffet and a dinner is served (3 choice menu, 2 courses). You can taste typical Trentino cuisine and also many well known Italian dishes. During the dinner you can help yourself with varied salad buffet and rich desert trolley as well.
