Pila is a small ski resort just above the town of Aosta, with witch is linked by a (brand new for winter 2008/2009) gondola. The ski runs are on south slopes, that are under subtle influence of warmer winds from the sea, and cool air coming down from Valle San Bernardo.This location makes the snow conditions unique, moreover the snow is perfectly prepared for skiing without any ice or bumps, and more than 200 cannons are ready for support.
There are both tree-lined runs and vast,open spaces for skiing, from all over the are there is stunning panorama of neighbouring Alpine Peaks of Monte Bianco, Cervino and group of Monte Rosa.
The skiing is excellent for the beginners ( the Grimod bowl, Baby Pila and Baby Gorraz) and intermediate skiers, the offer for the most demanding ones
is limited two runs : Leissé and Couis 2
There is also a Snowpark Big Jump and Half Pipe for fans of snowboard.

8km Trails prepared for Cross Country skiing.

After ski the tourists can ride the lift down into ‘Rome of the Alps’ – Aosta, different from an average Alpine town, founded by Romans in 1st century B.C.
Worth seeing here are the Arch of Augustus, ruins s of a Roman theatre and remains of Roman walls encircling the town.
In the centre Gothic Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso from 12th century.
Near Aosta there are numerous medieval castles and manor houses open for visitors, the most famous are Sarre, Issogne, Verrès and Fénis.
Gamblers will find the casino in St. Vincent.


Pila is about 1,5 h drive from Turin airport.
