
Located around 3000 m above sea level Presena Glacier gets its name from Cima di Presena (3068 m ) , one of the peaks from La Presanella mountain range.
During the first world war Presena, similar to other mountains of Adamello-Presanella group witnessed heavy austrian-italian fights, the different war objects are on exhibition in the small town Temu, at the bottom of Adamello range. thre are special paths prepared for alpine skiing on which one can see remains of cannons,various metal parts, and with some luck gun shells half covered by the snow.
Presena Glacier is accessible from Passo del Tonale, a small village on Tonale Pass, which separates the Adamello-Presanella Group from the Ortler Alps.
Passo del Tonale connects Val di Sole with Valtellina, in the direction to Val di Sole are Vermiglio, Dimaro, Cles and Mezzolombardo on the motorway A22 Bolzano – Trident.
In the opposite direction clese to Passo del Tonale is town Ponte di Legno, then Temu and Edolo, whrer the road splits into Brescia, and via Aprica to Bormio and other locations.
Winter
The ski season on Ghiacciao Presena starts in October, then gradually within next month some other runs became oparating around Passo Tonale and Ponte di Legno.
The whole ski resort is called Adamello Ski and during winter form the bigger area with Madonna di Campiglio sharing the common skipass Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta.
The winter season usualy ends within the month of April.

8.00-15.00 or 7.00 -13.00
The gondola ‘PARADISO’ from Passo Tonale goes to Paradiso Pass at 2585 m above sea level.
From this point the chairlift ‘PARADISO-PRESENA’ takes the skiers to the level 2738 m.
Two skilifts PRESENA DESTRA’ and ‘PRESENA SINISTRA’ go to mountain Presena and stop at 3016 m.
There are three runs :
red PRESENA PARADISO 2738 m – 2585 m; 1700m long
red PRESENA DESTRA 3016 m – 2738 m; 1000 m long
black PRESENA SINISTRA 3016 m – 2738 m; 1000 m long
snowpark at 3000 m Snowmotion
