The Refuge Tognola is located at 2 200 m a.s.l. near the peak Alpe Tognola in the Natural Park Pale Pale di San Martino.
It can be easily reached from San Martino di Castrozza by the gondola Tognola, which has the top station just few minutes from the refuge.
The first building here has been constructed in 1930′s and the place became popular with the building of the modern cable car shortly after the end of WWII.
In 1993 it was completely rebuilt to its present form with a modern restaurant, bar and a sun-bathing terrace in the marvelous scenery provided by the views of the surrounding mountains Pale di San Martino, Lagorai, the Marmolada and the Vette Feltrine. Due to its position the terrace is covered with the sun from 9 am until sunset.
The restaurant offers a rich assortment of dishes from local cuisine including barley soup, inevitable polenta and sausage or a good plate of venison.
The dishes are made with use of best dairy products from Trentino region, and the honey from local forests.
The refuge is a partner of the Strada dei Formaggi delle Dolomiti, which means the supreme quality of served cheese (il Nostrano di Primiero, la Tosala and others ).
And even more, whenever the weather is fine, you open the grill on the terrace and the chef will prepare delicious dishes in front of you.
In the bar you can make a fast break with a sandwich, a dessert or a slice of strudel, warm up with a bombardino or a brulee, or try our selection of grappa.
The Refuge Tognola is open during the same hours and dates of the gondola Tognola, that operates the whole year round, which means the restaurant and bar are opened also during the summer.

upon the arrangement the return is provided by cable car or there is a possibility to descent downhill run Tognola Airstrip One with ski and torch accompanied by the Masters of the ski schools.
