After a month of spring temperatures and the total lack of snowfall Livigno will open tomorrow (Nov 19, 2011 ) 2 km cross-country skiing ring.

Work completed in a few days, since the column of the thermometer dropped below freezing and the gun could start producing the amount of snow needed to complete this first link in the path.

The cross-country trail is located in Tresenda (Forcola area) and is accessible to both fans of skating, and of time walking. Weather permitting the ring will be continuously expanded.
Local and other athletes now can start preparing for the season as on the horizon there are various appointments, first of all the Sgambeda, scheduled for December 14 to 18.

Nordic skiing is a sport very popular in Livigno, which demonstrates the commitment for the past twenty years in organizing international events, and the continued attendance of top teams who choose the location also for the high altitude. We saw this summer, when work began on the reconstruction of three bridges that join the various paths along the slopes of the central plain. There were some old Infrastructure requirements postponed for several times, but the new administration has now decided to invest in.

You just have to wait for natural snow to start the new season to 100%.
