At the end of 19th century location and quality of snow landscape have been recognised by noble families from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
It remained the natural conditions up to the present day and still the resort is chosen by many of families and groups of friends as a place of winter and summer
holidays.
Surrounded by the trees of Stelvio National Park the ski resort Trafoi offers the vast possibilities to walk, or toboggan during winter time and trek during the warmer months
with unique views to the Ortler-Cevedale range. Near Trafoi the road leads to the Stelvio Pass which connects Alto Adige with Lombardy, unfortunately because of the snow conditions the Pass is open only during the summer. At that time there is a possibility to ski on glacier in the summer ski resort Passo dello Stelvio.

Trafoi is described as the family resort, good for the relax and first steps on snow, where downhill runs end in front of the hotel.
There is also the place for more advanced skiers, here are the training slopes of World Cup champions Gustav and Roland Thöni.
More demanding skiers can have the possibility to visit neighbour resort Solda all’Ortles where they can experience skiing on the glacier at around 3 000 m asl.

Trafoi is one of 16 ski resorts which form Ortler Skiarena group with one common skipass, if you have more time you can try the slopes of mentioned Solda, Merano, Maseben Val Senales and other.
