It is hard to imagine better location in Dolomites. The Fassa Valley ( Val de Fasciain in Ladin, Fassatal in German) is surrounded by the most picturesque Dolomite mountains – Marmolada and Sella saddle show their peaks on the east, while ‘Sassolungo’ and ‘Catinaccio’ range on the opposite side.
One end of the valley is adjacent to the corner of Ski center Latemar (Val di Fiemme) , the other end is connected with Sella Ronda, thus gives direct on-ski access to the Marmolada Glacier ( Arabba) and ski areas of Val Gardena and Alta Badia.

The valley keeps its magical character of the land of fairy-tale King Laurino, and old rustical woodden houses with vivid tradition of Ladin – the language spoken here for more than two milleniums.
Numerous hotels of the valley feature the wellness centres, Eghes Wellness Centre and swimming pool in Canazei make the stay in the valley relaxing and well-being.

The main town of the valley is Canazei (1460 m) that with neighbouring Campitello di Fassa ( 1440 m) makes one of the four corners of famous ‘Sella Ronda’
The others are : Alba at the feet of Ciampac ( 2100 m),Mazzin, Pozza di Fassa( 1320 m ) under Buffaure di Sopra ( 2213 m) , and Vigo di Fassa ( 1390 m ) with the slopes on Ciampedie (2000 m) . From Vigo di Fassa by skibus one can reach the ski area surrounding the Lake Carezza.
Ski resort Passo Carezza is included in the price of standard skipass.
At the end of the valley lies the town Moena ( 1200 m ) with the slopes on Alpe Lusia – Passo San Pellegrino ski resorts that are the part of Tre Valli ski area.

To fully admire the spectacular panorama of Dolomiti one can take the cable car to Sass Pordoi ( 2950 m).

For cross country skiers are 13 tracks of 48 km, and generally the whole area is suitable for off-piste and snowboard skiing.

During winter there are numerous competitions held in Val di Fassa. The most popular are :
Marcialonga 70km ski marathon from Moena to Cavalese in Val di Fassa in January
Sellaronda Skimarathon (night run around Sella range) in February
Scufoneda ( the telemark old-style competition ) in February
