VIALATTEA
VIALATTEA (Milky Way)

In 1987 was the beginning of ‘Via Lattea’ (Milky Way) that connected slops of Sestriere with Sauze d’Oulx and with chain San Sicario-Cesana-Claviere.
The slopes are located between Val Chisone and Valle di Susa.The mountain peeks are nortwest monte Fraiteve (2701 m), sudest monte Sises (2658 m), Punta Rognosa near Sestriere (3280 m) and monte Motta (2850 m).
The potential of the area is proved by vast events organised here like regular Alpine World Cup Events (since 1967) and Snowboard World Cup Events.
In 1997 took place here Alpine World Championships, and in 2006 Vialattea has been a part of Torino Winter Olympic Games facilities.
‘VIALATTEA consists of 5 Piedmontese resorts:
Sestriere,
Sauze d’Oulx,
Cesana and Sansicario ,
Claviere ( and Montgenevre in France) .
Now you can reach the skiing area courses also from Pragelato by the new cableway Pattemouche-Anfiteatro.
There is total 400 km of more than 200 ski runs that range from 1350m above the sea level in Cesana to 2800m at Mount Motta.
The main ski facilities are:
Bob in Cesana.
5 Ski Jumps in Pragelato.
4 snowparks: Sauze d’Oulx (Sportinia), Sestriere, Sansicario and Claviere.
Also for the young are prepared two Baby Fun Parks one in Sansicario and one in Sauze d’ Oulx.

How to reach:
Air:
The VIALATTEA is a one hour drive from “S.Pertini” airport in Torino-Caselle and a little more than two hours from Milan-Malpensa, Genoa, Geneva and Nice airports.
Train:
There is a number of daily high speed trains from Rome, Turin, Lyon and Paris that stop at Oulx.
Bus:
There is a frequent bus service from Torino
Car:
When driving from Torino there are two main roads to take
one to Jouvenceaux- Sauze d’Oulx following the ancient Susa Valley route,
and the second through Pinerolo via Chisone Valley route.
